Introducing Bean!! 7 weeks

Bean is on the left and the circle to the right is the yolk sack, which will go away sometime in the next weeks when the placenta is in place! We heard the heartbeat, B had tears in his eyes and i was just too amazed to say or do anything but smile. That was amazing!

Now, for week 7....

Bean is about the size of a blueberry! woot! The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.

If you could see inside your womb, you'd spot eyelid folds partially covering her peepers, which already have some color, as well as the tip of her nose and tiny veins beneath parchment-thin skin. Both hemispheres of your baby's brain are growing, and her liver is churning out red blood cells until her bone marrow forms and takes over this role. She also has an appendix and a pancreas, which will eventually produce the hormone insulin to aid in digestion. A loop in your baby's growing intestines is bulging into her umbilical cord, which now has distinct blood vessels to carry oxygen and nutrients to and from her tiny body.

Slowly Spilling the Bean...

Little by little we are telling people about bean! B and I went up to the assisted living center to see his grandma (who helped raise him) and we told her. She was so stinkin' excited! We told her not to tell any of the cousins, but of course she probably will.

B called his three cousins this morning and told them the news. They are all super excited! The main reason he called was to tell them not to put it on Facebook....sad that facebook is my main concern, right?

damn technology!

6 weeks!

Way to go bean! You're getting so big already!

This is what bean is up to this week:

The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute — almost twice as fast as yours — and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones.

Bean is now the size of a sweet pea!

and this is what he looks like in there

In one week we will have our first pictures of Bean!! We cant wait!

Brockstar Rocks My World!

Okay, so when I was on the GP board we all got BFPB's (big fat positive buddies) and i ended up with two awesome friends because of it!!

Brockstar sent me a package that had me sobbing!! (and had my little dog a little bit jealous/concerned!)

2 bibs (i love mommy and i love daddy), 3 baby hats, 4 receiving blankets, a baby fleece blanket, candy hearts(the sour kind! mmm!!) 4 bags of smarties (i love smarties more than words can say!) a jar of pickles, 2 liter of ginger ale, chocolates, double bubble, drawer/cupboard latches, outlet covers and raw hides for our dogs!!

Thank you thank you thank you!! You are an amazing friend and I love you so much!!

First Appointment!

B and I went to our first appointment for bean today! It was pretty uneventful, but I'm glad to have it over with! This all doesn't seem real yet!

When we got to the doctors office, he was so happy to see us instead of starting infertility blood work! It was so awesome to have him be as excited as we were (A+ for bedside manor!)

Anyways, we met with the nurse and went over a million questions about both my and B's health history, i peed in a cup and then met with the doctor where we went over a bunch of the same questions, he asked some more questions and we asked him some.

Then came the pelvic, woah, this threw DH off a bit. He knew it was coming, but the look on his face when he saw what the Dr was doing was priceless! it made me laugh.

I got blood drawn....like 8 vials of it! Dang! Didn't they think me and bean needed that?!

Anyway, we have scheduled our first Ultrasound for next week Friday! Feb 26th at 9am! We are both already so excited. Cant wait to see that little heart beating!!

We told our parents!

B and I went home to tell my parents they are going to be grandma and grandpa in October! We showed them with a slide show of pictures from Cancun and did the 'priceless' thing at the end. My mom didn't get it right away, so it's a good thing that the last slide was a pic of the digital that said 'see you in October'! she jumped up out of her chair, looked at me and screamed/cried "YOU'RE HAVING A BABY!?!?" and dad started crying and it was awesome!

we called and told B's mom and little sisters down in NC and they were ecstatic! They all started yelling so many thing that we couldn't hear them, but it was good, happy yelling!

Woah, so spreading the news that I'm pregnant is totally fun! cant wait til 12 weeks so i can blab to more people!!

5 Weeks!

Geesh! I wish I wouldn't have found out I was pregnant so early. Damn charting! The first week was just creeping by, but I'm sure that is the same for everyone.

Anyways, today bean is 5 weeks old! Bean has grown from the size of a sesame seed to the size of an apple seed! Way to go Bean!
This is what Bean is up to this week:
The neural tube — from which your baby's brain, spinal cord, nerves, and backbone will sprout — is starting to develop in the top layer, called the ectoderm. This layer will also give rise to his skin, hair, nails, mammary and sweat glands, and tooth enamel.

His heart and circulatory system begin to form in the middle layer, or mesoderm. (This week, in fact, his tiny heart begins to divide into chambers and beat and pump blood.) The mesoderm will also form your baby's muscles, cartilage, bone, and subcutaneous (under skin) tissue.

The third layer, or endoderm, will house his lungs, intestines, and rudimentary urinary system, as well as his thyroid, liver, and pancreas. In the meantime, the primitive placenta and umbilical cord, which deliver nourishment and oxygen to your baby, are already on the job.

and for reals, this is what bean looks like -- getting more and more handsome every day!

breakdown = telling parents sooner!

Original plan of telling the rents: waiting until after the first dr's appointment (even though they aren't going to do an U/S or anything) and head up to Michigan to tell mom and dad. Sister and her bf already know and they were going to meet us there....and the 26th was the first weekend this could all happen after the dr's apt on Feb 16.

New plan:this weekend!!! yes! My sis and her bf can make it down for the night on Saturday, so it will be a short visit but it will be awesome!

How we are going to tell? A slide show of our trip to Cancun 2 weeks ago with quotes about family in between random pics. towards the end we will do the "air fare, $399. "All inclusive resort", $599. "Realizing there are three of us in this picture, priceless!" (and have that be on a pic of just B and me)

I will post the slide show when it's done! My sister is working on it, yet another reason why I love her so so sooo much! I am so excited to tell my parents!! They are going to be sooo excited!

Oh yah...

My pee smells super funny. My friend Lindsay told me this was going to happen, i didn't believe her. but it's true.

kinda neat to have a symptom! even if it makes me gag a little! haha

Heart Beating?

Hokey Petes! The ticker on the side and some more research tells me that little bean's heart will start beating today-ish! It's crazy how fast all the development happens!

God, please take care of this little bean! I know this is a very critical time in development (well, all of it is, but the next couple weeks especially) We've been waiting so very long and praying so long for this baby.

4 Weeks, 1 Day

Yeah, starting early on the surveys and pics!

Total weight gain/loss: same...cause i just found out.
Next Appointment: Feb. 16th, which is also the first appointment. It can't come soon enough!!
Maternity clothes? nono, but i am bloated. Jeans didn't button well at all, good thing its the weekend and i can wear pjs and sweats all weekend!

Stretch marks: had them for awhile, wont be able to blame them on the bean!

Sleep: I'm going to bed early, but waking up but waking up at least 2 times a night. Not too exhausted during the day though, yet!

Best moment this week: Finding out I am pregnant!!!

Movement: too early for that

Food cravings: I don't think I have any legit cravings. I just think of stuff I want and make DH get it for me. This morning? Sauteed onions!! mmmm

Food aversions: not yet!

Gender: I think it's a boy....but i know nothing. and I'd also be happy to be wrong! We'll be happy with a boy or a girl!

Belly Button in or out: still in...will be for a while!
What I miss: sleeping on my belly, I'm too bloated to do that right now. And also, sleeping through the night. I guess i should get used to that.

What I am looking forward to: better question, what am i NOT looking forward to?! I want M/S, aversions, cravings, belly, kicks...i want it all!

Contractions: none.

Milestones: Getting my BFP!!

Check out that bloat!

just realized how dirty my mirror is. i promise, a clean mirror from here on out!!

FINALLY!!!

I took a digital test the day I got my BFP and the day after, each time it gave me those crappy words "Not Pregnant" so I waited until my real test date and FINALLY got confirmation of what I already knew and what i've been waiting to see!!

I woke up about 3 times in the middle of the night to pee, but wouldn't let myself go (yes, that's not great to do, i know. but i did it for the sake of a positive digital) and finally at about 6am i couldn't hold it anymore. "Pregnant" popped up really fast! I flipped on the lights to the bedroom, jumped on the bed and yelled "B (for future reference, i do really call him B. That's not just for blog sake!) look at this!" I handed him the stick and he rubbed his eyes, sat up looked at it and giggled. He's now fast asleep, but he was happy for the 32 seconds he was awake!

B is no longer requesting further testing and now believes me, it's about time!

Week 3

I know, I'm almost done with week three, but maybe someday I'll want to remember what my little bean looked like at 3 weeks, 6 days!
Totally cute, right?! Yeah, I'm biased! (i think that my sister would think this too!)

also, bean is the size of a poppy seed and will be all through next week too!
The Bump says this about bean:
In week 3, sperm meets egg, and voila: conception! Your little zygote sets off on a six-day trek through your fallopian tubes, dividing and redividing into identical cells as it travels to your uterus.

In week 4, now safe in your womb, the ball of cells (blastocyst) splits in two, becoming the embryo and the placenta. The amniotic sac and fluid are forming around baby, and will act as a cushion for the next eight months.

Bean, I promise, I will be the best Cushion that any baby could ever ask for!! We love you so much already!!

I can't believe it!

After 13 long cycles of TTC with endometriosis, I got my BFP last night!! I was only 11dpo a the time and the line on both tests is very faint, but they are getting darker and darker (yes, i keep testing.)

I tried testing with a digital, but that tells me "not pregnant" which really sucks to see, but I've taken 5 other tests, and they all look like the one's above! I'll try a digital on Saturday morning!

My first doctor's appointment is on Feb 16....forever away! DH insists on going with, even though its only a physical and blood work! Gotta love that!

When I told him last night, right after he walked in the door from work, I told him I had something to show him and showed him the blue dye test. He didn't know what it meant, and then when i told him he said (and I quote) "Are you fucking with me? You're Fucking with me, aren't you!?" I said no sweets, this is not something to fuck with someone about! he gave me a big hug and kiss...then started to look quite nervous.
